OUTREACH

The Lay Magistrates’ Association of Jamaica (LMAJ), in its 41 years of existence, has an association of Justices of the Peace is dedicated to serving and helping to improve communities and the lives of community members across Jamaica in varying capacities. Community outreach is central to this work; it means being present, responsive, and ready to with the everyday needs and concerns of the people we serve. LMAJ’s outreach includes connecting individuals and families with information, guidance, and appropriate support; by helping communities identify and respond to local needs; and working with residents, schools, churches, organizations, and public institutions with activities that improve community well-being. This may include educational sessions, youth and family support, assistance for vulnerable persons, community improvement projects, and initiatives that encourage positive choices, civic responsibility, and stronger relationships.
